Carfil S.A, a manufacturer of military equipment, will be reorganized
The ministry of economy announces that in the government meeting on Friday was approved the Plan for the reorganization/restructuring of the Carfil S.A. company which operates in the defense industry and has units which function in Brasov, Harman and Vadeni. The plan includes, among others, the modernization of the production capacities, the economic- financial efficiency, as well as the relocation of the production lines in Brasov and Harman.
Carfil S.A.is a producer of military technique, subsidiary of Romarm and has activity in Brasov, Harman and Vladeni. Through the plan for reorganization/restructuring includes the modernization of the production capacities, the economic-financial efficiency of the company and the increase of competitiveness in the domain of research-development as well as the relocation of the production lines in Brasov and Harman, at a distance of ten kilometres.
The plan aims at solving the situation of the non-finalised investment ‘Modernisation of the Cast iron foundry’. Following the reorganization, the company will produce new military products and modern armament systems, some unique at a global level, according to the NATO standards, answering to the orders on the domestic and foreign market.
‘The reorganisation of this factory aims at the retechnologisation of the production flows, and the rethinking of the whole system of management. The strategy on long term regarding the Carfil S.A. company is to integrate in consortiums in the domain of European C&D&I, as leader of consortium. As we said: the defense industry is a strategic domain, and the reformation of this sector comes under the state responsibility’ said minister Florin Spataru, according to a press release of the ministry of economics.
The reorganization plan approved on Friday by the government includes the growth of the number of employees, especially higher education personnel, the drop in the average age and development of the research-development capacity.
The industrial activity of the present company Carfil SA Brasov started in 1922 and starting with 1936 it turned into a producer of military technique for the endowment of the Romanian Army.
Later on, the company has become a manufacturer of military technique for the Romanian Army and for various foreign partners.
The main product categories in the field of military technology include anti-tank grenade launchers and explosive bombs, bomb-throwers, explosive steel body blows for throwers, throw loads for throwers, for which the company provides repair and modernization services, according to the company’s web portal.
