IAR Brasov records net profit of 22.88 million RON in first nine months, up by 53 pct

IAR Brasov has recorded a net profit of 22.88 million RON in the first nine months of this year, increasing by 53 pct over the same period of last year, according to a report sent on Monday to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB).

The company had a net turnover of 235.83 million RON, in the first nine months of this year, larger by 10 pct over the figures accomplished in the same interval of 2020.

The exploitation costs of the company in the first nine months rose to 231.9 million RON, by 23 pct higher than the ones reported on September 30, 2020.

IAR Brasov will have on September 30, 2021 assets worth 307.77 million RON and its own capital worth 219.2 million RON.

IAR Brasov is an aeronautical company the activity of which started in 1925. Re-established after 1968, it cooperated mainly with western companies, such as Aerospatiale and Turbomeca in France, Britten Norman in the United Kingdom.

Since 1970, IAR Brasov became the sole helicopter manufacturer in Romania, both military and civilian. Starting with 1978, it remains the only producer in the world of the military version of the Puma helicopter, the licensing contract of which started in 1974, the Puma model being licensed from Aerospatiale.

IAR Brasov has produced and delivered more than 360 Puma and Alouette III helicopters under Aerospatiale license (presently integrated into Airbus Helicopters, formerly Eurocopter SAS), 830 gliders and motorized gliders, as well as 136 light aircraft of own design.

Presently, IAR Brasov is a unit specialized in maintenance, repairs and capital repairs for Puma and Alouette III helicopters.
