IT domain, the most attractive for Romanians abroad wishing to return to the country
Romanians abroad wishing to return to the country could be attracted by the IT domain, and more precisely the software development branch, according to a study conducted by Smartree company sent on Wednesday.
"Romania is increasingly emerging as an IT hub in the region, and this leads, in turn, to higher than average earnings for employees in this domain. Now, compared to 5-10 years ago, Romanian IT professionals have a high standard of living against that of the local market and economy, hence for specialists who would like to return home, this could be one extra argument," said Raluca Penes, Smartree HR Coordinator.
She pointed out that, in addition, the technology segment offers employees a number of attractive perks, such as flexible work schedule, including the possibility of remote-work, of just a few days a week.
"Employees who prefer office work are also provided with multiple personal development facilities and modern conditions, such as suitable relaxation spaces, study spaces, a library or a cafeteria. Romanians abroad might also be attracted by jobs that require foreign language knowledge, such as those in Share Service Centers (HR, Accounting, Logistics, IT), or those in the automotive field (engineers, designers, project managers, even unqualified staff). Thus, for those who have lived abroad and have learned a foreign language, especially if we are talking about an exotic one, such as the Nordic ones, finding a job locally is no longer a challenge," reads the document.
The analysis further shows that in the fields of construction, sales or the medical system, although there are jobs available in Romania, salaries are not as attractive and will probably not entice them to return to the country.
Smartree, one of the leaders in Romania in the HR outsourcing market, was established in 2000 and offers a full range of services: from payroll, personnel management, analysis and reporting to management, recruitment, temporary work, even consultancy in the field. Smartree processes 550,000 employees annually and has over 150 customers, mostly multinational companies, but also companies with full Romanian capital.
