Minister Borc: Around IAR Ghimbav "may grow an aeronautical pole closely linked to what the Romanian Army will need”
Economy Minister Costin Borc said on Thursday that IAR Ghimbav is profitable and added that around it "may grow an aeronautical pole closely linked to what the Romanian Army will need."
"IAR Ghimbav is a profitable company that is able to make some exceptional products, both for the Romanian Army, as well as for foreign markets. We are confident about the future of IAR Ghimbav, and I believe that around IAR Ghimbav a Romanian aeronautical pole closely linked to the Romanian Army's demands may grow, and also with what we are speaking in the Government about reindustrializing Romania. IAR Ghimbav is an example of what the reindustrialization of Romania means," said Economy Minister Costin Borc.
The minister was present on Thursday at IAR Ghimbav, joined by Minister of National Defence Mihnea Motoc in the event that marked the delivery to the Ministry of Defence of the last helicopter IAR 330L Puma Naval of the three ordered.
Minister of National Defence Mihnea Motoc said that the Ministry of Defence and IAR Ghimbav signed a framework agreement worth 50 million euros for maintenance works.
