ONRC: 10,948 companies suspend activity between January-July 2018
The total number of companies that suspended their business increased by 25.98 percent in the first seven months of this year compared to the similar period in 2017, from 8,690 companies to 10,948 companies, according to the statistics of the the National Trade Register Office (ONRC).
The largest number of companies that suspended their business was recorded in Bucharest - 1,301 and in the following counties: Bihor - 586, Cluj - 509 and Prahova - 422.
Reported to the first seven months of 2017, declines in the number of companies that suspended their business were registered only in Dolj county (minus 8.76 percent), Giurgiu county (minus 4.13 percent) and Teleorman county (minus 2.50 percent).
The most significant increases in terms of suspended companies were recorded in the following counties Vrancea (plus 57.50 percent), Botosani (plus 55.68 percent) and Arges (plus 52.68 percent).
In July, a number of 1,330 companies suspended their business, most of them in Bucharest (139) and Bihor (76), Cluj (58) and Iasi (58).
