Almost 40 secretaries of state from PSD released from office
Prime Minister Ludovic Orban stated on Thursday that he released almost 40 secretaries of state from PSD (Social Democratic Party) from office.
"Today, I signed for the removal of a new series. I released almost 40 secretaries of state from PSD from office, and tomorrow I will continue. We must prepare all the decisions, we must analyse the legal grounds and I must sign. (...) The PSD Government left, and now all the secretaries of state, all heads of office, deputy heads of office and all the PSD clientele will leave the Liberal Government, for we won't accept to work with those who mocked Romania in the past three years. (...) I didn't have enough time, otherwise I would have finished today with signing these decisions," said Orban, after participating in the 26th edition of the National Top of Companies, organised by Romania's Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He specified that the number of secretaries of state will be "drastically" reduced. "We will announce when we will adopt the Government decision regarding the organisation and functioning," said the PM.
According to him, the time of regulations "adopted overnight, without any consultation of the business environment, while they bring about substantial changes that affect the business plans of the companies" has gone.
"The period of the regulations adopted overnight, without any consultation of the business environment, while they bring about substantial changes that affect the business plan of the companies, has gone. I guarantee you today that Romania has a Government that is a friend of the business environment, a partner of the business environment, a Government that understands very well that Romania's development is based on the individual economic initiative, on investments, on risk-taking, responsibility, and whose very clear objective is to encourage business, the economic initiative, investments, and any kind of regulation aimed at businesses should be adopted only after a wide consultation of the whole business environment and taken early, so that each company will have time to adapt to the possible changes of the law," said Orban, at the 26th edition of the National Top of Companies Gala, organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania.
He underscored that the business environment needs "stability, predictability, reduction of bureaucracy, ensuring equal conditions of competition from the state and its institutions, truly applying the law of prevention, setting in place all the mechanisms that really support the investments and the development of each company."
The event was attended by President Klaus Iohannis, as well as the members of the Government.
