Ambassador Grinkevich: up-and-coming cooperation will pave way for agri-products on Euro-Asia market
Belarusian ambassador to Romania Andrei Grinkevich said on Friday in Targu Mures that multiple possibilities of cooperation between Belarus and the center-north Mures County have been identified, agricultural products included, mentioning that joint-investors cooperation would give the Romanian side the opportunity to sell their products for moderate taxes on the Euroasian market, as his country is a member of the Eurasian Customs Union.
Grinkevich voiced his appreciation for Mures County planning to develop cooperation with Belarus and promised increased openness on his part to supporting the development and strengthening of such relations.
As far as dairy and agricultural products are concerned, I have always considered that Romanian products are top quality. A few days ago, people were quite astonished when asked whether their produce are organic, and responded that all products are natural and ecological. We could work together in this area, given that together with Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, Belarus is a member of the Eurasian Customs Union, and if we start a joint investors cooperation we will have the opportunity to sell our products without being charged very high taxes on this Euro-Asia market, the ambassador of the Republic of Belarus said as he attended the opening of the photo exhibition 'The Visit of the Mures County Delegation to Belarus - September 2017', organized by the Mures County's Prefect Office.
The Belarusian ambassador said that it had been an honor to support the visit this September, the first by a Romanian delegation to Belarus, led by Mures Prefect Lucian Goga.
This first visit was a real success, and the colleagues from Belarus intend to expand cooperation relations with your beautiful county in all areas of activity. Today we had a very interesting discussion and identified cooperation opportunities in areas where we can achieve results, starting with institutional cooperation at inter-parliamentary level, in business, agriculture, culture, cooperation between museums and theaters, educational cooperation involving institutions - universities, secondary schools etc. We are also going to establish cooperation relations in sports and tourism, these are activity areas where our cooperation would be a real success, said ambassador Andrei Grinkevich.
