Analysis: Continuing turbulence on stock markets

Nicu Grigoras, a transaction manager of Intercapital Invest, a brokerage company, expects turbulences to continue on stock markets in the following period, and recommends investors to avoid being very aggressive when buying and wait for markets to quiet down.

“Foreign markets have tried a comeback and succeeded to recuperate about half of corrections since the beginning of the year. However, since late last week tables turned somehow and corrections started again. All markets are on the negative, we are witnessing an extension of the Friday session when American markets dropped considerably and were corrected by 2%,” the broker declared for Ziarul Financiar.

Since the beginning of the year the Bucharest exchange has a minus of 10%, dropping in line with the main European stock markets. Investors hope the issuers listed on the Bucharest exchange will come with good news in preliminary financial results for 2015.

“Companies listed at BVB will not surprise much with these reports. I expect good results in the utility and banking areas and very poor results in the oil and gas area,”Grigoras said.

He added that this year the highest will be distributed by companies which distributed in previous years.

“Transelectrica, Transgaz, Electrica, possibly Romgaz, even if the company in a rather difficult situation. For Transelectrica, Transgaz and Electrica shares investors may expect dividends between 8 and 10% calculated at current prices,” Grigoras said.

The broker does not expect Transilvania Bank to distribute dividends this year.

He added that the highest dividends will be distributed by companies which did that in previous years.

“I think the distribution of free shares will continue” but their percentage will be higher than in past years. “Last year they obtained a very high profit coming from the purchase of Volksbank and would like to distribute more free shares to investors. I expect a pleasant surprise from this point of view,”the transaction manager of Intercapital Invest declared.
