BCR turns 28 branches into cashless units

The Romanian Commercial Bank (BCR) announces, in a press release issued on Thursday, that it turns 28 branches throughout the country into cashless units, with electronic operations.

The BCR network will thus have 41 cashless branches, and their number will grow to 125 in 2018. At the same time BCR will open this year 7 new Financial Dialogue Centre type branches, while 58 will be modernized, based on an overall investment of over 50 million euros in the next two years.

“The modernization of units represents an essential part of out retail strategy. The whole architecture of the new BCR branches, including the concept of cashless agencies, was developed taking into account suggestions made by our customers and closely related to the development strategy of Erste Group. Through the complete migration of current cash operations to multifunctional electronic machines, we will eb able to offer a new experience within cashless agencies,”said Dana Demetrian, BCR Retail & Private Banking vicepresident.

“In each of the 33 cashless units, customers will carry out current bank operations thanks to the two types of state of the art equipments installed, multifunctional machines which allow a wide range of operations and APT where people can make cash deposits and pay bills,” the press release says.

BCR, a member of Erste Group, is the most important financial group in Romania, including universal bank operations (retail, corporate & investment banking, treasury and stock markets) as well as specialised companies in the leasing, private pension and housing bank markets. BCR offers a wide range of financial products and services by means of a network of 22 business centres and 18 mobile offices devoted to companies and 514 retail units in most towns with over 10,000 inhabitants, throughout the country. It also has the largest national ATM network- over 2,000 ATMs and 15,200 terminals for payment by card, as well as complete Internet banking, Mobile Banking, Phone banking and E-commerce services.
