Dozens of ensembles and artists will perform at the 10th edition of the inter-ethnic festival "Alfabetul Convietuirii" [Alphabet of Coexistence], which will take place between September 29 and October 1, in Ploiesti.

According to a press release sent on Wednesday by the Hellenic Union, the event is meant to encourage intercultural dialogue, respect for the heritage and customs of each race, religion and belief.

The official opening will take place on Friday, September 29, at 4:00 p.m., at the Palace of Culture in Ploiesti.

On this occasion, the opening of the "anadromiki-retrospective" exhibition of the painter Gabriel Grama, whose works made in Greece represent an expression of contemporary concerns from the perspective of traditions, mythology and personal memories, will take place. The program of the first day of the festival will include the parade of traditional costumes and the parade of the participating ensembles, the quoted source says.

During the three days of the festival, more than 900 people will perform on stage. "The more than 25 hours dedicated to dance and music performed by more than 50 ensembles and established soloists from Romania and Greece will delight the present audience. In addition to the performances, the presence of the presentation stands of the national minorities will attract attention and highlight the beauty of the heritage culture of each ethnic group," mentions the Hellenic Union.

The project is initiated by the Greek Union of Romania and carried out in partnership with the Ploiesti City Hall, the Paul Constantinescu Ploiesti Philharmonic, the Prahova County Council, the Government of Romania - the Department for Inter-ethnic Relations and the Ministry of Culture.
