Draft law on 2024 state budget, social security budget in Parliament on December 18, vote on December 22
The draft law on the 2024 state budget and social security budget will come to Parliament on December 18, with the final vote in the legislature expected on December 22, National Liberal Party (PNL) deputy Florin Roman said on Monday, after the meeting of finance minister Marcel Bolos with the Liberal parliamentary group in the Chamber of Deputies.
"We had a meeting at the level of the National Liberal Party's parliamentary group with the Liberal finance minister, Marcel Bolos. Following this meeting there was a unanimous vote to support the new 2024 state budget and social security budget. Following the consultations and discussions with the Finance Minister, we concluded some extremely important Liberal components for which we will unanimously vote on this budget," said Roman, deputy leader of the PNL group.
Asked when the budget will come to Parliament, Florin Roman said: "On 18 [December - editor's note] it will be tabled in Parliament, and 22 [December - editor's note] is the deadline for adoption in the Romanian Parliament".
Finance minister Marcel Bolos announced on Monday that he had discussed with Liberal MPs the broad lines of the 2024 state budget, mentioning that it also includes spending on increasing pensions, teachers' salaries, investments on the 'Anghel Saligny' programme and that there will be zero tax increases.
