Eurostat: Romania's annual inflation rate in June stood at 0.7 percent
Romania's annual inflation rate in June stood at 0.7 percent, while in the European Union it dropped in May from 1.6 percent to 1.4 percent, according to the data of the European Statistics Office (Eurostat) released on Monday.
The data previously published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) reveals that the annual inflation rate was 0.9 percent in June, above the forecast of the National Bank of Romania (BNR), namely of 0.6 percent
"Consumer prices in June 2017 increased by 0.9 percent compared to June 2016. The average rate of consumer prices over the last 12 months (July 2016 - June 2017) compared to the previous 12 months (July 2015 - June 2016) calculated based on the ICP (Index of Consumer Prices) is -0.1 percent. The average rate determined based on the HICP (Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices) stands at 0.2 percent," the INS informed.
The National Bank of Romania estimate for the end of June an inflation of 0.6 percent, with an uncertainty interval of +/-0.5 percent. The BNR goal is 2.5 percent, +/-1.1 percentage point.
