Explosion at RAFO Onesti leaves three dead

Three employees of the RAFO oil refinery of Onesti died on Wednesday afternoon in an explosion at the catalytic cracking installation of the company.The installation had just been restarted after weeks of revision.The three employees were near an oven where raw material is preheated before production. The blast seems to have been the result of a gas accumulation that blew out when the burners were restarted.Prosecutors, police officers and officials of the Labour Protection Inspectorate rushed to the scene to start investigations.
