Foreign exchange reserves of BNR, down to 63.579 billion euros in July
The foreign exchange reserves of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) totaled 63.579 billion euros, at the end of July 2024, down by 1.26% compared to the level of 64.392 billion euros, on June 30, 2024, according to a statement from the Central Bank, transmitted on Wednesday.
During July, there were inflows of 2.444 billion euros, representing the change in the minimum reserves in foreign currency constituted by the credit institutions at the BNR, the replenishment of the accounts of the Ministry of Finance and others.
There were also outflows of 3.257 billion euros, representing the change in the minimum reserves in foreign currency established by the credit institutions at the BNR, interest and installment payments on the account of the public debt denominated in foreign currency, payments on the account of the European Commission and others.
The level of the gold reserve remained at 103.6 tons. Under the conditions of international price developments, its value was 7.450 billion euros.
Romania's international reserves (currency plus gold) on July 31, 2024 were 71.029 billion euros, compared to 71.641 billion euros on June 30, 2024.
The payments due in August 2024 in the account of the public debt denominated in foreign currency, direct or guaranteed by the Ministry of Finance, amount to approximately 307 million euros.
