Gov't contemplating rationing natural gas for companies
The Romanian government is contemplating rationing natural gas for corporations this winter if it fails to import gas as planned, government sources said on Monday, adding that the population will not be affected by the rationing.
An advisory board has been set up at the government level to analyse the developments in the energy crisis triggered by the Ukraine conflict.
"Delivery will continue. There is no limitation for household consumers. The fair percentage rationing is aimed at business operators if we fail to bring in natural gas as planned," the sources said.
According to government sources, Romania currently meets 90% of its natural gas demand from domestic production.
