In Romania, unemployment rate was estimated at 5.2% în July 2017

• Unemployment rate in July 2017 increasead with 0.2 percentages points as compared to the previous month (5.0%).

• Men’s unemployment rate was higher than that of women with 2.3 percentages points.

The number of unemployed (aged 15-74 years) estimated for July 2017 was of 478 thousand persons, increasing as compared to the previous month (461 thousand persons), but decreasing as compared to the same month of the previous year (525 thousand persons).

According to the breakdown by gender, men’s unemployment rate was with 2.3 percentage points higher than that of women (the values concerned are 6.2% for men and 3.9% for women).

The unemployment rate of adult persons (aged 25-74 years) was estimated at 4.3% for July 2017 (5.4% in the case of men and 3.0% in that of women’s). The number of unemployed aged 25-74 years accounted for 77.4% of the total number of unemployed estimated for July 2017.
