Meeting of the Romanian ambassador with the representatives of a Jordanian parliamentary commission
The bilateral Romanian-Jordanian relationships and the most recent regional evolutions were the main issues approached by Romania’s ambassador to Jordan, George Cristian Maior with the representatives of the parliamentary commission for relations of cooperation between Jordan and Europe, led by Khaldoun Hayna in a meeting in Amman, according to the Jordanian press agency Petra.
Jordan and Romania have solid political relations, relying on the friendship between the leaders of the two countries, stated Khaldoun Hayna on the occasion of this meeting, mentioning a series of agreements and memoranda as well programmes implemented together in the domains of energy, culture, tourism, agriculture and investments.
He also mentioned the importance of consolidation of commercial, economic and parliamentary relations, especially in the context of difficult circumstances imposed by the covid-19 pandemics.
Referring to the regional themes, this meeting approached the status-quo regarding the Palestinian cause and the position of his Majesty King Abdullah II towards the Palestinians and security and stability in the Middle East. Hayna spoke about the importance of the Hashemite custody on the Islamic and Christian sacred places in Jerusalem.
In his turn, the Romanian ambassador stated that Romania supports the Hashemite custody on the sacred places in Jerusalem and the role of King Abdullah in making comprehensive and just peace in the region, according to Petra.
George Cristian Maior spoke about the necessity to develop and consolidate the relations with Jordan, especially in the domains of economic, commercial and security cooperation, mentioning that the mutual visits made by the leaders of the two countries will boost economic cooperation and will motivate the private sector and the business people to put to value the opportunities in the Hashemite Kingdom, according to the quoted press agency.
