MFP: 7,951 natural persons bought state bonds; the subscribed value is close to 280 million lei

The ministry of public finances (MFP) drew 7,951 investors natural persons, in the first five days since the beginning of the sale of state bonds, six times more than in the whole period of 2015 and the total value is close to 280 million lei,informs a press release of the institution.

The ministery of public finances presents its intention to supplement the emission of state bonds for this year depending on the level of demand.

‘We bring to your attention the fact that between 11-29 July there is an offer, the interest being 2.15% per year. The bonds have their maturity in 2018, the nominal value being 100 lei. One person can acquire at most 1,000 bonds, the maximum value of 100 thousand lei. The state bonds can be acquired without any costs, from the four banks in the system: BCR,BRD, Raiffeisen Bank, Banca Transilvania. The generated income by the ownership of the state bonds is not taxed. In the process of subscription the investors can buy state bonds either through one of the banks or through a brokerage company authorised for that. In the case of the banks the subscription can be made either in cash and a subscription account is opened, or by presenting a banking account at the respective bank or another bank’ MFP says.

At maturity, the Ministry of public finances will organise an anniversary lottery in which 100 natural persons, the bonds owners of the anniversary emission will get prizes of 1,000 lei each, irrespective of the number of bonds owned.
