Mihai Fifor: Romania-UK partnership important in military field
The strategic Romania-UK partnership is important in the military field, wrote defence minister Mihai Fifor on Facebook, following his meeting with Deputy Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland at the North Atlantic Council at NATO Nick Pickard on Tuesday. According to Fifor, “displacing Royal British Air Force planes in Romania is part of the Action Plan ensuring NATO operational capacity on the eastern Alliance flank both in the northern and southern areas and proves NATO unity and determination as an answer to security challenges.” The minister mentions it is the second time when a British detachment is deployed to Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base for joint air police actions with Romanian Air Forces. The first one was deployed over May 1- August 31, 2017.
