Nicolas Maure was awarded the rank of Knight of the Legion of Honour
Former manager of Renault Group Romania and CEO of Automobile Dacia Nicolas Maure was awarded the rank of Knight of the Legion of Honour by French Ambassador in Bucharest Francois Saint-Paul.
"Your qualities as an entrepreneur, coordinator, manager, man of finance and visionary confer you in my eyes the stature of an industry steward. A steward capable of keeping the course, navigating hazards and feeling the change. And what globalized sector other than the automotive sector requires so many qualities? An industrial world the end products of which send millions of men and women around the globe dreaming and which represents the working tools for tens of millions of people," said Francois Saint -Paul as cited in a release on Friday.
Holder of an engineering degree from Ecole Centrale de Paris and of an MBA from Institut Europeen d'Administration des Affaires, Nicolas Maure began his automotive career in 1988 at Valeo, continued at Faurecia and then at Renault, as of 2000.
From 2014 till April 2016 he held the position of Renault Romania MD and CEO of Automobile Dacia. Also beginning 2014 he served as president of the French Chamber of Commerce in Romania (CCIFER) and as French foreign trade advisor in Romania.
According to the ambassador, throughout his tenure at Renault Romania and Automobile Dacia, Nicolas Maure asserted himself as a fighter for the competitiveness of the Romanian platform, for the improvement of infrastructure in Romania and the development of the domestic market of new cars.
Under his management, Renault Romania developed numerous activities in the field of social accountability and environment, investing in the training and development of its employees and in road safety, the statement said.
On April 4 Nicolas Maure took over as CEO of Russian carmaker Lada AvtoVAZ.
