Orban: Florin Citu will no longer be prime minister; if he remains prime minister, it will be by PSD mercy
Ludovic Orban, the former national leader of the National Liberal Party (PNL), said on Monday that he would be ashamed to become national leader of PNL as Florin Citu did, arguing that Citu will no longer be prime minister or, if he does, it will be by the mercy of the opposition Social Democratic Party (PSD).
"Florin Citu does not understand one thing: even if he managed the way he did, if I were in his place, I would be ashamed to become president of PNL as he did. Florin Citu does not understand one thing, that he will not be the prime minister or, if he remains prime minister, he will remain only by the mercy of PSD, and to remain prime minister by the mercy of PSD means to disrespect all PNL sympathisers, who believe less and less in Florin Citu and who wonder (...) what has happened to PNL to bet on a man who, practically, has become a non-grata person for a huge number of people," Orban said at the Parliament House.
He called Florin Citu's victory in the PNL leadership elections "a party coup."
