Phone call between Romanian ForMin and Moldovan counterpart
Minister of Foreign Affairs Ramona Manescu on Thursday had a phone conversation with her counterpart from Chisinau, Nicolae Popescu, on which occasion she reiterated Romania's firm support for the European aspirations of the Republic of Moldova, informs a press release sent by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE).
The two dignitaries discussed about the results of the Mixed Inter-ministerial Group Romania-Republic of Moldova, on Tuesday hosted in Bucharest, "meant to identify the priority fields of interest in accelerating ongoing bilateral projects, with an emphasis on the strategic interconnection ones, as well as on the development of new projects, in advancing the reform agenda of the Government of the Republic of Moldova."
Moreover, the head of the Romanian diplomacy highlighted the special character of the bilateral relation.
Minister Nicolae Popescu accepted the invitation to participate in the Annual Meeting of the Romanian Diplomacy, which will take place in August and also invited Minister Ramona Manescu to pay a visit to the Republic of Moldova, says the said release.
...and her Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu
Foreign Affairs Minister Ramona-Nicole Manescu expressed on Thursday, in a discussion with her Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu, the commitment to continue the cooperation with Turkey on all levels, a Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) release informs.
According to the quoted sources, on the occasion of being invested in office, Foreign Affairs Minister Ramona Manescu carried out a phone conversation with head of Turkish diplomacy Mevlut Cavusoglu.
"Thanking for the congratulations addressed on this occasion, the Romanian dignitary expressed the commitment to further support the cooperation with Turkey at all levels, taking into account the consistency of the bilateral relation, which is being unfolded under the parameters of the Strategic Partnership adopted in 2011 and its corresponding Action Plan," the MAE shows.
The conversation enabled a short review of the bilateral agenda, being highlighted the satisfaction regarding the stage of the economic and commercial cooperation.
Moreover, Manescu showed that, in the context of Romania holding the Presidency of the European Union Council, our country acted in the sense of imprinting a constructive dynamics in the relationship between the EU and Turkey. The Minister brought to mind the organisation of the EU-Turkey Association Council, after a four-year break and pleaded for maintaining dialogue, an essential factor, meant to reduce tensions, underscoring the necessity of a good cooperation in view of managing the common challenges," the MAE mentions.
