PM Ciuca: Decision about taxing large companies to be made after discussions in coalition
Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca said on Tuesday that "no decision" has been made on the possibility of introducing a tax for large companies, noting that he would discuss the issue with each of the officials in charge in the governing coalition and a decision will be made together.
"There is no decision yet, no decision has been made. I will talk to each of those in charge with this issue in the coalition and we will make a decision together. We will have all this data provided by those who conduct the budget analysis, by those who have knowledge about the way the budget is built and of course from those who identify all these elements through which we can ensure the collection of money to the budget," said Ciuca at the Palace of Parliament in reply to a question he was asked about the proposal to introduce a tax on large companies, as there are about 300 multinationals that could be taxed in this way.
As regards the possibility of introducing a wealth statement for each household, Ciuca said that it is one of the proposals, but no decision has been made yet.
"There are a lot of ideas and proposals for solutions that are being debated, analyzed and, of course, this is one of them. No decision has been made yet," he said.
