PM Ciuca: The draft budget amendment will be put in transparency during the week

The draft budget amendment will be put in transparency during the week by the ministry of finances, announced on Saturday prime-minister Nicolae Ciuca

The amendment is, as we said, a positive one. I want to say that, during the next week, it will be made public, it will be put in transparency at the ministry of finances. There are aspects that mean, as the representatives of the local authorities have required, the continuation of the programmes already underway, which for the moment had to be stopped due the increase of prices for construction materials and the lack of co-financing funds. It is an aspect that should be taken into consideration, at amendment, at the level of the ministry of finances’ stated Nicolae Ciuca, in a press conference at the headquarters of the Vrancea County Council.

The head of government added that, before the amendment, the government must have all the necessary data to see the costs of compensations offered for the price for electricity for April.

The moment we have all data connected to what we have to do on the part of compensation for the electricity prices, after the month of April is closed, as we could not finalise all elements of the amendment, as we want to see how much is the compensation for April, the suppliers could not supply until this moment the bills so that we can close down a month, completely’ explained Nicolae Ciuca.

Premier Nicolae Ciuca, present on Saturday at the commemorative events at the Marasesti Mausoleum stated that Romania has chosen its road, as part of the western civilization and it will not leave this road, with the obligation ‘ to stand against radical, populist or revisionist actions and speeches’.

‘Romania has chosen its road, it is part of the western civilization, and it is a democratic state which made huge efforts to become a trustworthy partner in the western society. We will not leave this road as it is our historic road. In such moment, we need to express the values we believe in and that we share, together with the partner countries. With the same perseverance as that of our forefathers, we have the obligation to stand to protect and enrich the democratic values against radical, populist or revisionist actions and speeches. They want to generate hate and violence in the free societies, they have as a purpose to divide and annul our capacity to get mobilized facing challenges’ said Nicolae Ciuca

‘A century ago, Romania saved itself and strengthened its power due to the supreme sacrifice of the Romanian soldiers, who gave us the example of love for the country, left us the inheritance of hope, trust and perseverance in standing and being a winner when facing a difficult destiny. A part of this determination which made possible the existence of Romania as a unified state has to be found in each of us, irrespective if we live in the country or abroad, irrespective of our personal beliefs and irrespective of the different opinions that we hold. It is our duty to honour and protect what we have obtained through sacrifice: the liberty to decide our own fate. Now, on behalf of our heroes we have to protect this liberty with determination to honour our past and to ensure the future. May God rest the fallen and protect the Romanians. Honour and honour to their memory’, the prime minister said.

In his speech, Nicolae Ciuca has referred to the war in Ukraine as well, a conflict which ‘has influenced and will influence our lives and all important decisions’.

The war is the biggest tragedy that a people can experience. Not far from our borders, another people is resisting heroically against an unjustified aggression, hard to understand and with consequences even harder to evaluate. Once the war of Russia against Ukraine has broken out, it has influenced and it will influence our lives and all important decisions. This war has a huge impact on a political, economic and social level. We are at a moment of historical balance. The way we manage the crises generated by this armed conflict will influence our future and our welfare. Fortunately, we are not alone. Romania’s belonging to the European Union is the guarantee of economic stability and the NATO membership is the guarantee of safety and security’ the premier said.

The head of the executive was present, on Saturday at the Marasesti Mausoleum for the events organized for the commemoration of 105 years since the fights in the First World War in the summer of 1917.
