PM Ciuca welcomes Jordanian Senate's El-Fayez

Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca on Thursday welcomed Chairman of the Jordanian Parliament Faisal El-Fayez at the Government House to discuss opportunities for developing bilateral relationships in areas such as economy, trade, agriculture, education, and defence.

According to the Romanian Government, the consequences of the Russian military aggression in Ukraine were analysed, both from the perspective of security and in terms of its impact on supply chains.

"The prime minister of Romania detailed securing the transit of grains from Ukraine and the involvement of the country in ensuring the food security of countries for whom Ukrainian agricultural produce is essential. At the same time, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca conveyed Romania's interest in creating a hub for Romanian agricultural produce in the port of Aqaba and Romania's availability to use more agricultural fertilisers made in Jordan."

Ciuca also presented the opportunities that Romania can offer to Jordanian investors related to the relationship with the European Union.

"Underlining the need for stability in the Middle East and North Africa, the prime minister appreciated the role played by Jordan, showing that Romania encourages dialogue in the region also from the perspective of Romania's good relationships with both Israel and Palestine."

Ciuca thanked for Jordan's support provided for the repatriation of Romanian nationals from Sudan.
