Prahova: Peles Castle and other museums have free access on Saturday
Peles Castle in Sinaia and many other museums in Prahova county, some of them unique in Romania, will have free access on Saturday, on the occasion of the Museum Night international celebration. At Peles Museum, people can visit the basic exhibition on the ground floor, between 5.00 and 9.15 p.m.
Several Prahova museums participate in the Museum Night and expect visitors, some of them organizing various events and others presenting the basic exhibitions.
These culture institutions include unique museums, such as the Clock Museum, set up by professor Nicolae Simache in 1963 and the Oil Museum, inaugurated in 1961, with a patrimony estimated at oveer 8,000 museum pieces.
Prahova County History and Archaeology Museum announced that free visits will be organized in several of its sections in Ploiesti or other localities. In Ploiesti one can visit on Saturday, “Paul Constantinescu” Memorial Museum, “Nichita Stanescu”Memlorial Museum, “Targovet House 18th-19th centuries Museum, “Ion Luca Caragiale”Museum, “Nicolae Simache”Clock Museum and the History and Archaeology Museum.
The “Princely House”in Brebu, Teleajen Vally Ethnographic Museum at Valenii de Munte, “Bellu Manor” in Urlati, “Constantin and Ion Stere” Memorial Museum in Bucov, “1777 Winery”in Valea Calugareasca, “Pana Filipescu Manor”in Filipestii de Targ and “Cezar Petrescu” Memorial Museum in Busteni participate in this event.
Prahova Natural Science County Museum also has free access between 5.00 and 10.00 p.m as well as the Oil Museum, the last admission being at 9.30 p.m.
Ion Ionescu-Quintus Art Museum can be visited free on Saturday between 5.00 and 12.00 p.m. (last visitors admission at 11.00 p.m.).
