Rain, glazed ice advisory extended till Thursday evening, south-eastern counties under rain advisory
The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) extended the nationwide advisory of rainfall and glazed ice until Thursday evening, whereas three south-eastern counties are under a Code Yellow heavy rainfall alert.
According to the weather forecasters, between 1pm on January 6 and 8pm on January 7, precipitation will grip the entire country, with rain prevailing in the south-eastern and southernmost regions, snowfall taking over in the north and center of Moldavia, mountain and sub-mountain, areas while the rest of the territory will see mixed precipitation.
Rainfall is expected to reach over 10 — 15 liters per square metre and there will be glazed ice in spots. The wind will gust mainly in the south-eastern and eastern regions at speeds of 50 — 60 km/h.
From 6pm on January 6 to January 7 at noon, the Code Yellow heavy rainfall comes in effect in the counties of Constanta, Tulcea and Calarasi. In these areas the amounts of rain are expected to reach 20 — 25 liters per square metre and even 40 liters per sqm in spots.
