Romania approves MoU with Hungary on new border checkpoint
Romania’s transport ministry said on Friday that the government approved a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Hungary to open a new border checkpoint.
The border checkpoint will be located between Romania’s westernmost administrative unit, Beba Veche, in Timis county, and Hungary’s village of Kubekhaza, the transport ministry said in a press release.
The construction of adjacent infrastructure and the supply of equipment necessary for the operation of the border crossing point will be ensured by the transport ministry through Romania’s road infrastructure company, CNAIR.
The MoU also envisages the upgrade of a 24 km road section in Timis county.
