The 16th edition of the Romania Day on Broadway event devoted to Romania's cultural values and customs to be attended by artists, dancers, musicians and craftsmen from various regions of Romania will be held on Sunday in New York.

The Romanian Cultural Centre of New York (ICRNY) says the event, to be staged on the Broadway, the Bowling Green Park, is organized jointly with the ZIU USA not-for-profit and the Carol I University Foundation of Bucharest.

Among the official invitees are Consul General of Romania in New York Ioana Gabriela Costache; Romanian ambassador to the United Nations Ion Jinga; Moldovan ambassador to the United Nations Vlad Lupan; Vice President of the Romanian Cultural Institute Liviu Jicman. Stefan Minovici will deliver an official message from Kristen Gillibrand - US Senator - New York State.

For the first time ever, Soul Serenade jazz trio will give a recital, and an exhibition of Romanian blouses curated by Critina Chiroiac and Mirela Traistariu will open at the same time. Also staging recitals will be The Roadrunners rock band, Rapsozii Carpatilor, Mariana Preda (pan flute), folklore music singer Ciprian Cocalia, as well as the Banatul dance company.

Over 25,000 people are expected to take part in the festival that recreates a genuine Romanian ambient in one of the most visited metropolises of the US, says ICR-NY.
