Romania has reached an EU funds absorption rate of 99.1pct under 2014-2020 Cohesion Policy
Romania has so far collected funds under the Cohesion Policy in the amount of 23.84 billion euros, in the financial exercise 2014-2020, and has reached an absorption rate of 99.1% , informs the Minister of Investments and European Projects, Adrian Caciu, in a post published on Wednesday on his Facebook page.
"Romania has so far collected funds from the Cohesion Policy in the amount of 23.84 billion euros in the financial exercise 2014-2020, reaching a degree of absorption of 99.1%. I took over the absorption of funds at a level of 74%, when I became the Minister of Investments and European Projects. When the PSD (Social Democratic Party) was at the government, the absorption rate was 51.3 per cent, which means a progress of 47.8 percentage points (that is half of the free money that Romania had allocated, but which stayed in Brussels back then) in European money, but especially thousands of projects that have been financed and contributed to the development of our country, that have been carried out in these 2 years and 8 months. I continue to believe that, beyond the political agitation between the two parties that govern Romania today, the key ministers from the two governments from the period November 2021 - present have done their job and worked in the interest of the Romanians," said Caciu.
The official added that Romania's priority now will be represented by the financial exercise 2021 - 2027, within which there are already contracts signed worth more than 17.5 billion euros.
