Romania January Monthly Inflation Highest In EU

Consumer prices in Romania rose 1.7% in January compared with the month earlier, the highest monthly rate in the European Union, official data showed Friday. EU's monthly inflation was 0.5% in January, according to the EU's statistics office Eurostat. The annual inflation stood at 1.7% in January, up from 1.5% in December 2009.
