In 2019, 4.6 million persons aged 15 years or older were employed in the utilities sector in the European Union (EU), representing 2.3% of all persons employed, with Croatia, Bulgaria and Romania recording the highest share of utility workers in the EU, at 4.8%, 3.8%,and 3.7%, respectively, according to data released on Wednesday by the Eurostat, EU's statistics office.
