Survey Avangarde: the popularity quota of president Iohannis and Florin Citu halved in October against the previous month
The Social Democratic Party (PSD) would get 40% of the votes if next Sunday were parliamentary elections, followed by the National Liberal Party (PNL) – 17%, the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) 14% and the Save Romania Union (USR) – 13% according to a barometer of public opinion made by Avangarde consulted by News.ro.
Doctor Alexandru Rafila is the first in the top of popularity, followed by Marcel Ciolacu and Emil Boc while Klaus Iohannis goes down from third place last month to place 6, after Raed Arafat and George Simion. Dacian Ciolos, Dan Barna, Ludovic Orban, Nicusor Dan and Rares Bogdan are in the second half of the ranking, which closes down with Florin Citu.
According to the results of the barometre, if next Sunday were parliamentary elections, the scores obtained would be –PSD – 40%( against 37% last month), PNL – 17% ( against 20% next month), AUR – 14%, USR – 13%, UDMR – 5% and PMP would not get the threshold of 5% for the parliament.
Another question addressed to the interviewees had the following form : ‘ We are going to read to you a list of politicians and personalities in Romania. We would like you to tell us what your opinion about each of them is’ the options being: good, bad, never heard of, no answer.
The first was PSD deputy Alexandru Rafila with 30%. Rafila is followed by Marcel Ciolacu – 25%, Emil Boc – 24%.President Klaus Iohannis, on the third place at the previous barometer, goes down to place 6 with 14% trust quota, as compared to 28% one month ago.Premier Florin Citu is going down as well, with a trust quota of only 7% against September with 14%.
The government is considered by 28% of the interviewees responsible for the gravity of the wave 4 of the pandemics in Romania, 15% consider that president Iohannis is the guilty one, while 14% consider that the population is the guilty one.
The survey was made between 17 – 26 October, on a sample of 900 people, by the method CATI ( phone interviews). The error margin is 3.2% for a level of trust of 95%.
