Tariceanu and Dragnea: the European Commission was misinformed about the transparency of the debates on the Justice issue
After the warning received on Wednesay from the European Commission, in connection with the amendments brought to the justice laws, Liviu Dragnea and Calin Popescu Tariceanu sent to Brussels a letter of response, as speakers of the parliament, where they expressed their worry about ‘ the incorrect way in which the European Commission was informed’.
‘We express our worry in connection with the incorrect way in which the European Commission was informed about the transparency of the debates on the issue of justice in Romania. To clarify these aspects,we inform you that the debate regarding this topic started a long time before the laws got discussed and passed in the parliament’ the joint letter of Liviu Dragnea and Calin Popescu Tariceanu according to gandul.info.
The two speakers of the Romanian parliament express their hope that the MCV will be lifted quite soon.
‘We express our hope that we will successfully close the Mechanism for Cooperation and Verification during this mandate of the European Commission’ the two say in the letter.
