The 69 th Republic Day of India celebrated in Bucharest

The 69 th Republic Day of India was celebrated by the Embassy of India in Bucharest through two events organized in the morning and evening, a press release sent to ACTMedia informs. The tricolor was unfurled by the Charge d’Affaires, Ms. Chitra Suresh at 0930 hrs. at the Embassy of India premises in the presence of around one hundred guests representing the Indian community and the friends of India. This was followed by a cultural programme and light refreshments.

The evening programme was held in the famous Sheraton Bucharest Hotel, Platinum Grand Ballroom, from 1800 to 2100 hrs. Around 170 guests, comprising the diplomatic community, high ranking Romanian government officials, representatives of the academia, Indian business community and friends of India attended the event. The chief guest was none other than the aptly selected Secretary of State in the Ministry of Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship, Ms. Paula Pirvanescu, who is also the head of the Invest Romania forum. The august guests were entertained by a professional musical band. The international Indian Chef of the hotel prepared and laid out a sumptuous and delicious Indian cuisine, admired by one and all.
