The approval of the CETA treaty by EP, a new step to visa exemption to Canada for the Romanians

The approval of the CETA agreement by the European Parliament represents a new step towards the visa exemption for travel to Canada for the Romanian citizens.

To come into force, the agreement for the partnership of EU –Canada will have to be approved by tens of regional, national and federal parliamentary chambers.

In the context of the signing of the CETA treaty,Romania negotiatied a bilateral agreement with Canada which will allow the exemption of visa for travel for the Romanian citizens.

Canada intends to include the Romanian and Bulgarian citizens in the visa exemption starting with 1 December 2017, stated in November 2016 the Canadian minister for immigration, John McCallum.
