The Festival ‘Caragiale’s Bucharest’ in the Cismigiu Park
The seventh edition of the Festival’Caragiale’s Bucharest’ started on Monday, to propose to those who go to Cismigiu Park a selection of events until 2nd of September.
Organised by the Townhall Bucuresti with the ‘Ion Creanga’ theatre, the festival includes: theatre shows – present in the repertoire of the theatres in Bucharest and the provinces as well as shows produced by independent companies, jazz concerts, recitals, workshops organised by craftsmen and visual artists, a press release says.
The cultural section which is presented on the Plane-tree alley (between the Rigas entrance,theValter Maracineanu square and the Cismigiu lake) is completed by a series of activities: street animation, exhibitions which present the charm of the Belle Epoque period and even more, conferences, guided tours and – for the first time – an interactive installation which brings together fragments from Bucharest of the past and present.
The programme this year includes theatre plays: ‘Magic National’ – the National Theatre ‘I.L.Caragiale’ of Bucharest,’Escu’ by Tudor Musatescu –Teatru Mic,’Gaitele’ by Alexandru Kiritescu – the Tony Bulandra theatre, Targovistte, ‘ Ultima Ora’ by Mihai Sebastian –the Ariel Theatre, Ramnicu Valcea, ‘ Sluga la 5 stapani’ by Mihai Gruia Sandu – UNATC ‘I.L.Caragiale’ ,’ Gunoierul by Mimi Branescu, ‘Caldura Mare’ after i.L.Caragiale or ‘The Fly’ concert-show with Marius Vernescu and Alexandru Pribeagu.
‘The Small Stage of the Cismigiu Park will resound from jazz and swing, fado and tango music together with Irina Sarbu,Mircea Tiberian and Nadia Trohin, Adrian Nour&Trio Zamfirescu, Bianca Mihai, Alex Stefanescu or Marthin Marcos Band.There are also modernised folk music concerts with Marius Mihalache or Adrian Naidin as well as Goldies from the inter-war period or relaxation music’ the quoted source says.
Keeping the tradition of the brass bands concerts, Caragiale’s Bucharest offers on Monday night a programme of military music presented by Military brass band of ‘Argedava’ band of the Major Staff of Terrestrial Forces.
The music programme closes on Sunday 2nd September on the Big Stage together with the National Radio Orchesta which will play a series of famous melodies belonging to Ion Vasilescu, Ionel Fernic, Dino Olivieri or Astor Piazzolla.
For the very young music lovers the Small Stage will host concerts given by the Children’s choir of the National Operahouse Bucharest,the Radio Children’s Choir , the ‘Sunetul Muzicii’ choir and the Meloritm choir as well as instrumental improvisation, recitals, karaoke sessions.The programme is completed with demonstrations of classical danse, folk dance, street dance, magic demonstrations or bicycle acrobatics.
As a first, the festival will include between 29 August- 2 September the interactive installation ‘ the Memories’ phone’ launched by Punctart Association part of the project of the Memory Museum the installation allowing those who are interested not only to listen to fragments from the universe of the city of the past but also to record their own thoughts and impressions about the present Bucharest.
