The ministry of finances intends to borrow over 2.7 billion lei in May
The ministry of finances (MF) has planned, for May 2022 loans from the commercial banks worth 2.4 billion lei out of which 200 million lei through an emission of treasury bonds with discount and 2.2 billion lei through eight emissions of state bonds.
This plus another 330 million lei through supplementary sessions of non-competitive offers, through bond auctions.
The total sum of 2.73 billion lei is with 675 million lei under that of 3.405 billion lei programmed for April and will be destined to the refinancing of the public debt and the financing of the deficit of the state budget.
According to the prospect published in the Official Gazette, MF has programmed on 12th May the auction for an emission of discount bonds worth 200 million lei with maturity on 29th March 2023.
Similarly, during May there will be launched eight emissions of benchmark bonds worth 2.2 billion lei, followed the second day by a supplementary session of non-competitive offers worth 15% of the initial value of the bonds emissions (330 million lei as a total).
Thus, in the fifth month of this year there were programmed six emissions of 300 million lei on 2nd, 5th, 9th, 16th, 19th and 26th May and two of 200 million lei on 12th May and 23rd May respectively.
