The Nordix Festival – Enchanting Aurora, A Nordic Cultural Expedition between 23 and 26 May in Bucharest

Film screenings, reading clubs for all ages, debates, exhibitions and special events will take place from 23-26 May in Bucharest during the first edition of the NORDIX Festival.

According to a press release sent on Thursday, NORDIX Festival – Enchanting Aurora, A Nordic Cultural Expedition proposes to the public a cultural experience, bringing together to Bucharest the North cinema, the literature for all ages, as well as the social systems and mechanisms which proved to be true pioneers in the fields addressed.

The festival wants, at the same time, to facilitate the dialogue and the exchange of experience between the North Countries and Romania through a series of debates which will include such themes as: education, inclusion, innovation, heritage conservation and green transition.

"The project aims to increase the visibility and appreciation of Nordic culture among the public, fostering intercultural understanding, promoting creativity and innovation and stimulating the public to delve into the diverse facets of Nordic culture," said Siri Barry, Ambassador of Norway, the project's coordinating country.

The films (including children's films) will be shown at Cinema Elvire Popesco and Cinema Union. A series of unconventional venues will host the other events, organisers say.

NORDIX Festival - Enchanting Aurora, A Nordic Cultural Expedition is an initiative of the Embassies of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden in Romania, as well as the Icelandic Consulate in Bucharest. The project is organised with the support of the Enkidu Association and receives funding from the Nordic Council of Ministers.
