The voting for the investment of the Orban government will take place on Monday at 14:00.
The designated premier Ludovic Orban stated on Friday that the quorum will be obtained during the meeting of the parliament on Monday where there will happen the investment of the Government. Besides the 225 MPs of the parties which publicly announced to support the Orban Government, the designated premier says that he spoke personally to other 11 MPs who will be in the hall.
‘Besides the 225 MPs who are in the groups who support the government, with whom we signed agreements or we established agreements, there are other 11 MPs with whom we discussed personally and they confirmed in a percentage high enough the fact they will be present at the voting of the government’ Ludovic Orban said.
He reiterated the idea that Romania must have a legitimate government which can take all measures. ‘ I think that everybody understands there is an absolute necessity that Romania has a legitimate government as there are many situations which require urgent intervention’ Orban said.
Previously, Ludovic Orban announced that the negotiations for the investment of the government will continue, during the meeting in the parliament.
PRO Romania leader Victor Ponta (former PSD leader and prime minister) said on Sunday evening that this party's MPs will not go to Parliament on Monday, to vote on the new Government's investiture, if (Prime Minister-designate, ed. n.) Ludovic Orban will not replace the ministers who received negative opinion in the select committees.
"We cannot vote something that we consider to be bad for Romania," said Victor Ponta.
