Two more torturers of the Communist period accused for 204 deaths
The Investigation Institute of Communism Crimes and Romanian Exile Memory (IICCMER) announced on Thursday the names of two more torturers of the Communist period, on whose names the IICCMER has filed criminal complaints to the Prosecutor's Office.
The two are Marian Petrescu, former commander of some labour colonies, in charge with the enforcement of an imprisonment regime that led to the death of 104 political prisoners; and Gheorghe Bostina, a former deputy commander of a forced labour colony, in charge of the death of 100 detainees.
The IICCMER leadership has organized on Thursday a conference on the outcome of the most recent actions of special investigations and the status of the criminal complaints brought by the Institute.
