Unemployment rate at national level went up at 3.27% in October
The unemployment rate registered at national level according to the data of the National Agency for Recruitment (ANOFM) was 3.27% at the end of October, higher by 0.01% percentage points against the unemployment rate of the previous months and by 0.29% over the level of October 2019, according to a press release of ANOFM.
Total number of unemployed at end October was 285,731 people, higher by 437 people against end September
Out of the total of unemployed registered in October, 93,969 received unemployment benefits and 191,762 did not. Against the previous month, the number of unemployed with benefits increased by four people, and the number of unemployed without benefits increased with 433 people.
As for the residence environment, at end October, a number of 100,121 unemployed came from urban environment and 185,610 unemployed came from rural environment.
The unemployment rate registered in October 2020 was calculated by using the active civil population on 1st January 2020, figure which is published by the National Institute for Statistics, every year, usually in September.
The active civil population at national level increased on 1st January 2020 against 1st January 2019 by 54,100 people, from 8,696,400 people to 8,750,500 people. Thus, the unemployment rate registered was recalculated taking into consideration the new active civil population at the beginning of the current year, the ANOFM press release says.
