Unemployment rate drops to 5.4 pct in May, yet youth jobless rates remain high

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased to 5.4% in May this year from 5.5% in the previous month, but a high level of unemployment, namely 22.7%, is registered among young people, according to data the National Institute of Statistics (INS) published on Thursday.The estimated number of unemployed (aged 15-74) for May 2022 was 451,000, down from the previous month (457,900), but approximately at the same level as in May 2021 (451,700 people) ...
