US Embassy: Implementation of interceptor systems goes on according to calendar
The implementation of interceptors in Romania is carried out according to the calendar and is completely budgeted for 2015. After that there will be improvements, the US Embassy pointed out on Thursday after the publication of a GAO report which evoked delays in carrying out the project.

The implementation of interceptor systems in Romania and Poland is completely budgeted for 2015 and 2018 respectively, the diplomatic mission declared, Mediafax informs.At the same time the embassy added there will be continuous upgrading following component installation.
A Government Accountability Office (GAO) report shows that Pentagon estimates about the placement of anti missile shields in Romania and Poland are optimistic and there will be delays in delivering some components and capabilities.GAO made an evaluation of the anti missile defense program in Europe considering that the report of the Defense Department on the topic offered insufficient data, while estimates about the purchase and delivery of equipment for EPAA were optimistic.
However, the Defense Department intends to declare the second and third EPAA stages able from the technical point of view in 2015 and 2018, the report published last week shows.For stage 2 (in which Romania participates) GAO noted that version 8.2 of the software used to launch an interceptor will be available in 2017. However, other capabilities programmed for delivery in 2015 may be postponed for 2017.There could also be delays in radar contribution to the integrated capabilities of the shield in Europe.
