USR is building right-wing cluster with PMP, Forta Dreptei, right-wing intellectuals

USR (Save Romania Union, in opposition) leader Catalin Drula says that the discussions for the building of a right-wing cluster continue with the Popular Movement Party (PMP), with Forta Dreptei [Right Wing - editor's note], right-wing intellectuals, civil society and the business environment, and so far the collaboration with PMP was well regarded by the USR members.

The USR leader said that on Saturday there will be a joint regional meeting with the PMP in Alba Iulia, but that discussions continue with other parts of the society too.

"We have an excellent collaboration [with PMP - editor's note], we want it and we have it not only at the top, at the leadership level, but also among our colleagues. We understand this need to bring together all right-wing energies in a project to oppose the influence of PSD (Social Democratic Party) and the PSD style. It is a type of project that was, for example, successful in Poland," Drula said.

He added that "PNL wants to make a copy, the Adibas project, the famous copy of a famous logo," of this project of USR with the right wing forces, but he believes that the project of the Liberals "will not work."

"The PNL committed a fraud in 2020 and asked for right-wing votes in Romania, votes that it then gave to Marcel Ciolacu to govern with an unnatural majority, because there was no majority for PSD in 2020, and to do this harm to Romania. This is the great betrayal and legacy of the PNL in Romania. (...) The PNL lied in 2020 that it would not raise any taxes. I am outraged by the fact that they lie so easily in Romanian politics," said the USR leader.

He also said, regarding a possible right-wing cluster created by the Liberals, that "Romanians know how to spot fraud" and accused the PNL of "betrayal" because "it brought PSD to government."
