Communication tests under telemedicine program funded by NATO to be tested this year

Romania, Finland and the United States will carry out this year communication tests under the telemedicine program funded by NATO, Secretary of State in the Ministry of the Interior and Administration (MAI) Raed Arafat, who is also the project's coordinator said.

According to the official, the project consists of creating the possibility to get specialist support and consultancy from doctors anywhere in the world.

The head of the Department for Emergency Situations, Dr. Raed Arafat, attended February 4 to 5, the NATO meeting on continuing discussions to develop an international telemedicine project to improve medical care in disaster interventions.

The agenda of the discussions held by Raed Arafat, in the presence of Sorin Ducaru, Assistant to the Secretary General of NATO, was continuing the telemedicine project with co-opting partners from some US institutions and the creation of the second server of the communications network in the US, the first being already placed Romania.

Decided within the meeting were the following stages consisting of performing communication tests between Romania, Finland and the US, as well as planning, in September, a meeting in Romania of the project's members to analyze the results obtained in this period of time.

Partners in the program are Romania, the US, Ukraine, Finland and Moldova.
