Orange launches first international HD phone call
The Orange clients in Romania and the Republic of Moldova will be able to launch HD quality voice calls, as the telecom operator managed for the first time to interconnect these two mobile networks with different infrastructure.
According to an Orange Romania press release, HD Voice success in the two countries, as well as the linguistic and cultural ties were the basis for Orange Romania and Orange Moldova decision to continue the innovation and extend the HD Voice service between the two countries.
In Romania, the number of the HD phone calls reported a constant growth since they were launched in May 2011, reaching 20 million now. Thus, in the third quarter of 2012, there were ten times more HD Voice phone calls on a year-on-year basis.
