13th Clean Coal Forum 2014 Updates
The demands of coal will keep slow down in 2014 under the big pressure of environmental protection and production capacity. In September, 2013, the State Council issued the Action Plan for the Control of Air Pollution while each province also stated the detailed enforcement regulations. In the Action Plan, some regulations including using other clean energy resources instead of coal, reducing the consumption of coal and eliminating enterprises with backward production capacity have been announced.
It is estimated the consumption of coal for power generation, steel and cement will be 2.161 (+6%), 0.728 (+4.7%) and 0.57 (+6.4%) billion tons. However, there is still a rapid growth in modern coal chemical industry but with a small proportion, which can not change the demand and supply pattern of this industry.
The situation of “rich coal, lack of oil and gas” results in making coal as the main energy resource. China is the largest production country for coal and it is essential to exploit and make use of coal resource to solve the problem of energy and build sustainable energy system. Strategies like effective protection, rational exploitation, integrated utilization and deep processing should be considered when developing coal industry.
With more attention to the energy conservation and emission reduction, people focus a lot on the sustainable development of coal industry. The core of sustainable energy system in the future is highly-efficient, clean and economic use of coal based on deep processing, transformation and availability.
Under this backgroud, Produced by CDMC Events, The 13th Clean Coal Forum 2014 will be held on June 12,13?2014 in Beijing, China.
