Bulgaria-Romania gas deliveries to start in 2018
“Gas deliveries along the interconnector between Bulgaria and Romania will practically start in 2018.” This is what energy expert Professor Atanas Tasev said speaking for Radio FOCUS quoted by focus-fen.net.
In his words, the “Romanian direction” is perspective at the moment.
“Practically, this connection may be activated at this very moment because winter is coming and the pressure in the Romanian system in Giurgiu and the region is very low, so we can in fact assist Romanian consumers.
However, the construction of the compressor station will start in 2017. It will put the two gas systems at equal position. This means that we can practically have both physical and virtual opportunity to receive gas from Romania and the other way round in 2018,” the energy expert explained.
Mr Tasev commented further that when there was market exposition, the prices for end-consumers were lower.
