E.ON built a photovoltaic plant of 1.1 MW for Transparent Design
E.ON Energie Romania built a photovoltaic unit of 1.1 MW for Transparent Design, the biggest processor of flat glass in Romania, investment of almost 1.6 million euro ensuring almost 25% of the energy necessary for the plant in Popesti Leordeni, Ilfov county.
The plant will produce 1,460 MWh of electricity per year. The carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced by almost 367 tons per year. The system will supplemented this year with another 230 kW.
With installed nominal power of 1,286 kWp, the unit unii ensure, annually almost 1,460 MWh renewable electricity for Transparent Design and a reduction of C02 emissions with almost 367 tons every year.
‘E.ON builds long term partnership to support B2B clients on their way to energy independence and sustainability. We go further together with Transparent Design this year by developing the project with another 230 kWp, which will ensure 30% of the necessary energy’ said Claudia Griech, general manager E.ON Energie Romania.
The extension of the project with another 230 kW this year, means the installation of another 624 photovoltaic panels with power of almost 284 kWp, through new investment of 255,000 euro. The contribution to the protection of the environment through reduction of CO2 emissions will get to approximately 405 tons per year.
‘We are a big consumer of energy due to the technology we use to temper glass and the increase of the energy price has a major impact on our production costs. The partnership with E.ON represented a key measure in the management of our business. The green energy is an important factor which will generate competition advantages in time for our company’ stated Alina Nechifor, general manager Transparent Design.
E.ON ensured for Transparent Design the whole investment project for the energy efficiency, from consultancy and personalized design to the implementation and financing for ten years, being ensured the post-installation services. Similarly, E.ON will ensure the maintenance of the whole photovoltaic system, in a contract for full service maintenance.
On the non-residential sector, the portfolio for photovoltaic generation projects of E.ON Energie Romania includes at present over 150 finalised projects, worth 28.5 million euro. The total production of photovoltaic energy is over 36 GWh/year, and CO2 emissions are reduced by approximately 8,000 tons every year.
Transparent Design is a private family company and has a main object of activity the processing of flat glass and execution of quality tempered and laminated glass destined for interior and exterior design. Due to the investments made by the company over the last two years – over 5 million euro, from the point of view of the technology and its capacities of production (almost 1,300 sqm tempered glass/day).
Transparent Design is the biggest processor of thick and tempered glass in Romania. In 2021, the company had a turnover of 6.8 million euro, registering a growth of 25% against 2020 and in 2022 the company estimates a turnover of over 10 million euro.
